Paradigm’s ActivCycle allows you to exercise your legs while sitting at a computer, watching TV, or just relaxing in a chair reading. It also can be used on a desk or table, for arm and shoulder exercises. It comes pre-assembled and is ready to use out of the box. The foot pedals have an adjustable foot strap and are easy on and off. A non skid floor or desk mat is included. The Activ Cycle is motor driven, with adjustable speed and an overload protection feature. The Activ Cycle can also be used without the motor for greater resistance.    Got this for my 84 years old mother whom has trouble walking so I want to get her to exercise her feet and I have tried several but not effective. She loves this one because it helps moving her leg easily although I encourage her to continue even after the power stop.

   The only DANGER WARNING I want to give is the cord that controls on/off switch may get tangle with the peddle and the cord will get jammed. This happens once when my mother didn’t turn it off and when she plugs in the electric cord, the peddle starts moving and yank the cord with it. I took for one star because it should always be in off state when plug it.

   This was purchased several weeks after my husband had total knee replacement. He had major complications after the surgery and rehabilitation was severely limited. After several weeks of use, several times a day, his range of motion is greatly improved. The physical therapist, my husband and I are all very pleased..He needs to have total replacement of the other knee and we know it will help immensely in the rehabilitation process.

   I’m very pleased with the activcycle. I use the cycle four to five times a day and its been four weeks since I received the cycle. Having MS with drop leg, this cycle has been very helpful in using my left leg again. I have even told my doctor about it.. and why was I never told about this type of product…instead of taking pills for my leg problem….Amazing what you learn on your own…Try it its great.

   I purchased this item for my 89 year old mother at the recommendation of her physical therapist. She has mild arthritis in one knee and the other knee was replaced 4 years ago. So she has limited mobility but benefits from mild exercise, which is what this machine provides. She started out at the minimum settings as recommended in the manual and has gradually increased the speed and duration. She says she has less pain after using it for over a month and that makes it a worthwhile purchase.

   Negatives, a longer cord on the controller would help and the digital display is not the easiest for older people to understand.

   I returned this item. It did not bring my cardio vascular rate up enough to be worth the price.
