The same standard applied to every brand we cover.
Performance, build quality, features, comfort, value, and noise: 6 categories, applied the same way to every bike we score.
Every spec we publish is checked against the bike maker's own product page.
Who a bike suits, what it asks you to give up, and what a membership adds are laid out together before you spend anything.

The questions we get asked most.
An upright bike has you sit above the pedals, like a traditional bicycle, and usually takes up less floor space. A recumbent bike seats you lower and further back, on a seat with a backrest. Which suits you depends more on how long you ride at a time and how you like to sit than on fitness level.
Budget bikes typically have simpler resistance systems and basic consoles, while higher-priced models add smoother flywheel feel, sturdier frames, and often a touchscreen with class content. The right number depends more on how often you will ride than on matching the highest spec you can find.
Look at the bike's actual footprint, not just its listed dimensions, since pedaling motion and seat adjustment both need clearance beyond where the frame sits. A folding or narrow-frame design can reclaim real floor space between rides.
The added cost usually goes toward a touchscreen display, class libraries, and sometimes automatic resistance adjustment. Whether that's worth it depends on whether you'll use the content consistently, since most class libraries require an ongoing subscription on top of the bike's price.
Compare the seat and handlebar adjustment range in the manual with your height, since the range differs by model. If more than one person will ride, check that the range covers everyone.
